(1) After the T&EU compi et~d the test ng of ~

testing of the various other units aboa~d Camp ~end leton \Naa
properly orpani~ed.
(2) The unit NBC Defense Officers taIled to ensure that
the units NBC assets requiring testing by t~e T&EU had been
proper I y prepared pr or to del I v~ry to the mob I I e test fac i I ty
A large number of masks were improperly buttoned had SL-~
components that were to be remo~'ed st I I I attached and many vvere
e~~tremely dirty.
(3) Al I units provided two generators to support the
requirements needed to operate the mobile test facility.
Hovvever, at one unit the ge~~rator was four hours late in
arriving, and at another un t both generators were unre I lab 1 a.
The supported unit failed to coordinate with engineer support
units provide a qua if ied operator or the generator. The
noons I stent generator power cau~ed unnecessary delays in
operations and contributed to the damage of sensitive mask
test I ng equipment.
(4) The T&EU was able to retain the tractor used to
transport the test facility for the majority of the operation.

(~) Current procedures requ ire that masks are tested on
the M-14, M-4, Qi7~, ~nd the Q2O4. If masWs are identified as a
failure on the M-14. they are then retested by another operator
on a different M-14. if they are still identified as
unserviceable they are marked appropr lately and are at I I tested
on the M-4, ~~79, and Q204. This procedure Is tIme consuming and
I ows product Ion.
(~) The mob i I a test fac I I I ty hae the capab I I I ty to hook
up' into existing unIt phone I I nes. However, ci ass "A" phone
I ines were unaval able in the immediate area, but were eva lable
within a reasonable we 1k ng distance In most instances. At one
unit a phone was not ave able after normal working hours and
the T~~U had to uti 1 i~ed a phon~ th~t w~~ located an
unsatisiactory distance away from the mob le test faci 1 Ity. This
made commLinicatione between the DIG, MCLB Barstow, the project
