          4. (U) TITLE: Logistics- Food Service Support for Deploying units
          after POM


          5. (u) OBSERVATION: No provisions were made to feed deploying
          soldiers after their final preparation +or overseas movement
          (POM).


          6. (Lt) DISCUSSION: Initially, units were completing their final
          POM at Hanger 817 and waiting an extended period of time before
          departing +or Forbes Field in Topeka. The only food available
          to them was what the Family Support Center had, which was fresh
          fruit, establishment would bring in food free to the soldiers
          but, in some instances, not enough to feed everybody.

          7. (Lt) LESSON LEARNED, No plan for feeding units after POM.

          e. (Lt) RECOMMENDED ACTION: That operation plan (OPLAN) include
          -Feeding requirements after final @OM to ensure every deploying
          soldier is provided A hot meal prior to departure from Fort
         @Riley. This may best be handled on a contract basis.
