          2. (U) Operation DESERT SHIELD conducted by USCENTCOM on 12/03/90.

          3. (U) KEYWORDS: No keywords..

          4. (U) TITLE: Logistics: Shortage of placards and decals -For
          hazardous cargo

          5. (?) OBSERVATION: Neither unit nor installation had an
          adequate supply of placards and decals for marking containers
          and vehicles shipping hazardous cargo.

          6. (?) DISCUSSION-   Unit members and others phoned Safety
          Division -For in-Formation on how to obtain shipping placards
          and decals late Friday. (Safety division does not carry these
          items). After many phone calls, Safety Div. and Print Plant
          worked on printing the required items. The placards were
          changed from availability at Publications to a GSA catalog
          Purchase item and few were available on the installation.

          coordinate +or purchasing an adequate supply of required. decals
