           2. (U) Operation DESERT SHIELD conducted by USCENTCOM on 02/07/91.

           4. (U) TITLE: Logistics: Storage Containers

           5. (U) OBSERVATION: Lack of Storage Equipment in Units.

           6. (U) DISCUSSION: Upon deployment/mobilization units realized
           that they experienced a shortage of organic storage capability.
           As a result, storage containers were purchased through DOC by
           S4. Containers were initially requested without chassis which
           created movement problems. Later chassis were purchased and the
           union of chassis and containers was completed on Fort Riley.

           7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: Purchase of proper storage containers
           will alleviate shortage of organic storage capability.

           S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: That containers and chassis be
           purchased as a unit with delivery to DOL Supply and Services for
           issue to 64, +or delivery to unit.
