1. PURPOSE. To test the validity of the Porta Count as a device
for Mask Fit Validation prior to fielding. Testing was conducted at
Camp Lejeune, N. C. during 15 to 17 October 1990. The following
*~ tasks were evaluated during the test.
a. Established the potential of utilizing the Porta Count as a
field Mask Fit Validation Device.
b. Identify the proper mask fitting procedures.
c. Identify any potential equipment or design faults.
d. Identify organizational and intermediate maintenance
capabilities.
2. BACKGROUND. The Test and Evaluation Units were tasked to
provide trained Porta Count operators and to act as test evaluators.
a. The following Marines were assigned to the Porta Count
operational test team.
